Rising Star
Upgrader/Rhythm demo for GDKO26 - Final
Battle opponents in an ultimate guitar tournament (of ultimate destiny)
(Volume adjustable in settings)
HOW TO PLAY
You know that game with the controller that looks like a guitar? This is like that game. Hit each note with the corresponding key, or click/tap the corresponding lane when the note hovers above the fret. Upgrade your stats and rematch previous foes to defeat tougher and tougher enemies, until you reach the finals! Then, you'll face against a boss to become the champion!
CONTROLS
Just Mouse/Touchscreen
SPECIAL THANKS
This project would not be possible without the Rhythm Game Utilities Plugin, which allows me to use .chart files. I tried my hardest a while back to figure it out myself, but ultimately couldn't. Thankfully the plugin could accomplish what I couldn't (and much much more). The example project also showed me how to set up such a scene and sync everything. I did unfortunately have to rewrite a few of the functions since they converted everything to integers when I needed floats.

Very fun! Though I do wish expert posed more of a challenge. I'm only OK at rhythm games, and expert was a bit of a snooze fest for the majority of the time, until the last 3 opponents, and even then it was only interesting for a small part of the song.
I'm also not sure whether the incremental style made it more fun or not, as it only really served to force me to play the first few songs multiple times. It probably does help newer players not get stuck though.
Overall, very neat idea, and was still fun, but could do with some more challenge.
Thank you for the feedback! Since I made this for a jam I tried to keep the skill level relatively low, but I would definitely love to add more challenge in any future updates/games!
